  • 1 x Superflow Exhaust System
  • 1 x Alloy Water Heated Inlet Manifold
  • 1 x Performance Air Filter
  • 1 x Uprated Carb Needle
  • 1 x Uprated Carb Spring
  • 1 x Exhaust Manifold Gasket
  • 2 x 48 Clamps
  • 2 x 51mm Clamps
  • 1 x Square Rubber Mounting Block
  • 2 x Rubber Cotton Reel Rubber Mountings
  • 1 x Twisted Hanging Bracket
  • 1 x Triangular Hanging Bracket

Fitting your Stage 1 Tuning Kit to your Mini:-

** Disconnect the Battery **

1. Remove old exhaust.

2. Locate all joints & mountings & loosen them, but don't remove them completely at this point.

3. Remove the standard air filter assembly to allow access to the manifold/exhaust clamp, loosen the exhaust manifold clamp first.

NB. If the original exhaust system is single box type, then remove the rear silencer, once this is removed.

Take the manifold clamp off completely, the front pipe can now be removed.

If the system is Twin box, the whole system will need to be removed in one piece, in a similar way to the previous one.

4. Disconnect the throttle & choke cables, remove the carburettor from the manifold.

5. Remove the combined inlet/exhaust manifold from the cylinder head.

6. Clean any trace of the old manifold gasket from the cylinder head surface.

Fitting the New Exhaust System

1. Locate & identify the new exhaust mounting rubbers & brackets.

2. Fit the new square block to the front of the rear Subframe, hang the twisted bracket from it.

3. Place the new exhaust gasket & L.C.B manifold down pipes into position on the studs of the cylinder head.

4. Loosely fasten the two end nuts to the outer pipes.

5. Place the new alloy inlet manifold onto the cylinder head, fasten both the inlet & exhaust L.C.B loosely onto the studs (so not tighten up at this          point).

6. Cut a slot in the end of the Y piece.

7. Fit the L.C.B Y piece onto the down pipes.

8. Hang the rear silencer assembly on to the front bracket using a 51mm clamp.

9. Offer the tail pipe up into place to allow you to position the rear hanging bracket. This bracket is shaped to sit on top of the tail pipe and uses two cotton reel rubber mountings that will require holes drilling into the rear rail of the subframe.

To locate the mountings

1. Hang the rear silencer on its mounting brackets using the 2nd of the two 51mm clamps around the tail pipe and the rear bracket.

2. Offer the front pipe into position & ensure that it does not touch the floor panel or the gear linkage.

3. Attach the front pipe to the Y piece & the rear silencer using 2x48mm clamps.

4. At this point you can now secure the Manifolds to the cylinder head, fit & tighten all the exhaust clamps.

5. The down pipe that drops from the two outer exhaust parts must be secured to the gearbox with the flat strap supplied with the manifold.

6. Refit the carburettor to the new inlet manifold & replace both throttle and choke cables.

7. Remove the original carb needle & spring from the carb, fit the new needle & spring, plus the new filter assembly.

8. Reconnect the battery & attempt to start the engine, check exhaust for leaks, then check the carburettor settings.
